Evan Farr

Evan H. Farr, Certified Elder Law Attorney (Licensed in VA and DC)

In private practice in Fairfax, Virgina since 1987, Evan Farr is widely recognized as one of the leading Elder Law attorneys in Virginia and one of foremost experts in the Country in the field of Medicaid Asset Protection and related Trusts.

Dean Anderson, Attorney (Licensed in VA and DC)
Dean Anderson is the attorney in charge of Estate Planning and Trust and Estate Administration for the Farr Law Firm, and also assists with Medicaid Asset Protection. Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Dean obtained his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1985, then spent 19 years as a litigation support specialist and a paralegal with a large DC law firm. Dean joining the Farr Law Firm in the Summer of 2007 after receiving his law degree with honors in 2006 from George Mason University Law School (where Dean was a research editor of the Civil Rights Law Journal).

 

Justin Cohee, Attorney (Licensed in VA)
Justin was born and raised in Sussex County Delaware.  Justin attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and received a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2007. After graduation Justin then attended the Elon University School of Law and received his law degree in 2010. While at Elon, Justin participated in a Wills Clinic where he prepared wills and other estate planning documents for individuals who received their homes through Habitat for Humanity and also particpated in the Wills For Heroes program where he and other attorneys prepared estate planning documents for police officers, firefighters, and their families. Justin enjoys weight training and watching sports in his spare time.
 

 

April Blum, Estate Planning Paralegal
As a"military brat" April has traveled widely and has lived in France, Alaska, New York, Seattle, and on Midway Island in the Pacific, as well as Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Fairfax, Virginia. April received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska while working as a paralegal in Anchorage, and has been working in the legal profession since 1975. April sings classical music with the Fairfax Choral Society and not-so-classical music with the Capricchio Catch Club at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. April spends much of her free time as a volunteer for the Folklore Society of Greater Washington. She is a contra dancer and caller, as well as an experienced costume designer and seamstress.

Karen Simpson, Asset Protection Paralegal
Karen was born in Washington, DC and has lived in Maryland and Virginia all of her life.  A bookkeeper since 1984, she began with the Farr Law Firm as a bookkeeper in 2006 and has been an Asset Protection Paralegal for the firm since 2007. She has taken accounting, psychology, logic and Spanish classes at Northern Virginia Community College.  Karen has 4 children and 4 grandchildren, all of whom live in the Northern Virginia area.  She belongs to a quilting bee which meets twice a month, and spends her free time quilting and gardening and playing with her grandchildren. 

 
 


Connie Vint, Asset Protection Paralegal
Connie received her paralegal certificate in 1991 and began working for a personal injury law firm in York, PA, then relocated to Virginia in 1995 where she first started working for the Farr Law Firm. In 2005, she moved back to York to assist her mother and went back to a position at the personal injury firm during the week and commuting to her home in Northern VA for the weekends. After 3 years of commuting, it was time to return to Northern VA to both work and live, and to return to the Farr Law Firm. Her years of living with her mother (who is currently 87) made her acutely aware of the challenges and adventures facing many with aging parents. Connie enjoys bluegrass music and riding motorcycles, as well as baking and cooking with her grandson.

 

 


Jeannie Caldwell, Director of Client Services
Jeannie was born, raised and attended school in the D.C, Metropolitan area, and now
resides in Fairfax.  She attended Salisbury State College in MD and majored in Business Administration.  The majority of Jeannie’s career has been spent in the hospitality and customer service industry. She has managed restaurants and hotels, and has served as the Director of Food and Beverage for several large private clubs.  In her free time, Jeannie enjoys boating, water sports, volleyball, racquetball, and spending time with her family.

 

Grace Everitt-Benz, Assistant Director of Client Services
Grace was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and has lived in the US since 1998. She attended the University of Florida and in 2010 married her high-school sweetheart and is now a proud Marine Corps wife stationed at Marine Barracks Washington in downtown DC. Grace’s early loss of her mother to cancer in 2009 demonstrated to her the importance of proper estate planning and long-term care preparation. In her free time, Grace enjoys adding more pins to her traveling map, cooking, volunteering with Marine Corps Family Readiness, and running her side business Happy Farm Bunnies raising cute and cuddly purebred rabbits.


 

Brent Vincenzes, Director of Business Development
As a Fairfax native, Brent has returned to the area after completing his educational endeavors in the Tidewater region of Virginia.  Brent now serves as the Director of Business Development for both the Farr Law Firm and for ELITE (the Elder Law Institute for Training and Education).  He earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Christopher Newport University, Luter School of Business, and his J.D. from Regent University, School of Law.  While in law school, Brent represented the Class of 2010 as the Student Bar Association Senator; Senior Editor for the Regent Journal of International Law; and as a regional competitor for Regent's Alternative Dispute Resolution Board.  In his free time, Brent enjoys sports and reading.
